Met Gala 2018

Hey everyone,

Today’s blog post is a little different, I have been reading so much over the past few days about the Met Gala 2018 and I can honestly say it is one of my favourites. It is one of the biggest fashion events worldwide, there are so many celebrities from all different backgrounds that attend and I think it is just  incredible. This year’s event took place in the Metropolitan Art Museum in New York the venue looked amazing, when I have my trip to New York I most certainly will be visiting.

The theme for the Met Gala 2018 was ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’. What an inventive theme mixing both fashion and religious works of art. I feel like this could cause a fuss with some people, however I think it was a wonderful idea and the fact we are bringing religion and blending with fashion. There were certainly some fabulous outfits this year, and I can’t wait to share with you some of my favourites, and likewise I will be sharing a couple of my not so hot.

A couple of my highlight moments from this year were:

When 2 Chainz proposed to his girlfriend Kesha Ward on the stairs, I mean I love a wedding but the proposal for me is one of my fav parts. There is so much love and just seeing how happy 2 people are just melts my heart a little.

My other highlight of the night was when Jaden Smith bought his own gold disk as his date, I mean this guy has so much confidence and his outfit was just pure swag. He sure does know how to make an entrance.

Onto my favourite outfits, now there were so many wonderful outfits I cannot post them all otherwise my the post would never end. So below are a few outfits which I basically fell in love with.

Wow they are all so beautiful! They are all so different and quirky but they are all pulled off perfectly by each person. Ariana Grande’s outfit is my favourite bringing the traditional sistine chapel print on the dress is very original, I can imagine this will be a new and hot fashion trend later this year. The blue and peach colours suit her skin tone so much.

On the other hand there are a few outfits that made me raise my eyebrow slightly. They are great outfits, however they are not my style and maybe just a little too extra.

I do really like Miley’s dress but I felt for the occasion it was just a little plain. I guess after seeing all the vibrant colours and fabulous designs, a plain black dress wasn’t going to make my list.

Overall I think this years Met Gala was fab, I have loved viewing everyone’s very funky outfits. I am a massive fan of events where so many different people come together I feel those are the nights you can just forget about all the negativity and just concentrate on everyone coming together.

What do you think of all the outfits?

Where there any that you loved or didn’t that I haven’t mentioned?

What were your highlights?

Lots of love

Chloe xx
