Not your typical Valentine’s Day post

Hey everyone,

Well today is Valentine’s Day and I have decided not to go for a typical Valentines post. I know Valentine’s Day can mean lots of love with pretty flowers and romantic dinners with loved ones. But for so many other people today is just another Wednesday and will be working their normal 9-5 jobs. I think that is why a few years back I decided to look at Valentine’s Day with a positive attitude, and think we are halfway through February. We are nearly approaching spring, which means slightly longer days, beautiful flowers blossoming, and lots of chocolate.

I even decided to treat myself last week with a few cheeky purchases from Asos, who I must admit are killing it at the moment. If you have a spare 5 minutes go check out there ‘new in’ pretty sure you’ll fall in love with everything like I did.

I have decided to write todays post on why I am excited for spring and I think to start it as to be blossom and flowers.

Doesn’t this look beautiful; I want to find this place! Pink is one of my favourite colours and so I absolutely love blossom. I love the smell how it looks to how it falls. I don’t know about you but I am seriously fed up of seeing branches bare just looking so droopy and moody. I think London is beautiful in spring with the mews going into bloom along with little bluebells popping up in the parks.

I have purchased a couple of new bits recently and I am so excited to show you all my new style. I have decided to go out of my comfort zone slightly and purchased some bright coloured items. I am so used to going in my wardrobe and picking out the same Topshop skinny jeans I pretty much live in, and some sort of tee. This spring I have put aside my normal and am going for something a little more adventurous. Starting with these beauties.

I am just very excited to be able to put my really big winter coat away and start to wear lighter jackets. I think finding accessories for outfits wearing a lighter jacket are so much easier than putting an outfit together in a massive winter coat.

I don’t think I could do a spring post without mentioning Easter. I love this holiday (even though I have been put on rota to work the whole of Easter). Some of my favourite flowers are daffodils; they are so bright and can lighten up any room. They remind me that the warmer weather is arriving, and that means I am a very happy bunny (Easter joke).

There is nothing I love more than Easter dinner; just thinking about it now is making my stomach hungry. I am a very big meat eater and lamb is one of my favourite roasts to make, I love the taste, texture and smell of lamb.

I think another reason I love Easter dinner is it one meal we eat as a family without any interruptions of life. I do enjoy spending time with my family however we are always very busy so eating together doesn’t really happen. I think I appreciate the times we do all get to spend time together.

Not to forget to mention chocolate! There is always loads of the stuff going round, in either selection boxes or little lint bunnies with bells around the neck. When I was younger I used to keep all the bells from my bunnies in a little tin, however when I moved house the tin got lost and I haven’t seen it since.

There are so many things to look forward to and I personally cannot wait to experiment and try some new and crazy things this spring. I don’t know if feeling as positive as I am right now is a good thing however I am going to embrace it and just live my life and do the things I want to do.

What are your plans for spring? Do you have any family traditions around Easter? Leave a comments below, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Have a lovely Valentines day, I am sending lots of love to everyone today, no matter what your doing!

Chloe xx
